The coin was issued during the reign of Heraclius, who was known for a reorganization of the military that enabled him to stop the advances of the Muslims in Asia Minor, a feat that changed history.

Heraclius is best known as the man who recovered the True Cross, the Cross on which Jesus was crucified, from the Persians. Heraclius, Heraclius Constantine, and Heraclonas Design. Heraclius, Heraclius Constantine, and Heraclonas stand side by side on the obverse.

Heraclius is in the center and wears a crown. Heraclonas, the short figure on the left, wears a cap.

Heraclius Constantine is on the right and, like Heraclius, has a crown on his head. In the upper left is a Cross. A Cross Potent stands at the top of steps on the reverse. Below is the the CONOB mint mark.
